Ton Up!

Chelmsford 0 Brentwood 106

Brentwood made the short trip to near neighbours, Chelmsford last Saturday, with a very strong side, although various players are still on the injured list including Captain Josh Woodcock, and proved far too strong for a Chelmsford side ravaged by injuries and unavailability.
Steve Killington, has built a strong confident squad this season, who take no prisoners and once they take control of a game never let go, and so it proved today as they ran in 16 tries, and had secured the try scoring bonus point after only 15 minutes of the game. This win pushes Brentwood to 2nd in the table, nicely placed to compete with Tring for the league title, with the all in important visit to the Hertfordshire side taking place on 10th December, prior to this fixture Brentwood entertain Barking this coming Saturday, always a tricky fixture as the “old enemy” from East London always rise to the occasion when playing Brentwood.
This result pushes Chelmsford further into the relegation battle, but one cannot fault the commitment of their players who clearly outclassed in all departments of the game never gave up. This was Brentwood’s largest win since the league system started, and possibly the largest win by any Brentwood side ever.
Great day for the club, with two more graduates of the clubs youth system making their full debuts 17 year old Sam Cappaert and 18 year old James Killington.
The try scorers were, Cappaert 4, Binet 2, Stannard 2, Captain on the day Thomas 2, Stainier 2, Vogel, Simpson, Chambers, Richards. 10 of which were converted by Bird, and 3 by Cappaert
