Very sad news

As you may be aware, Graham sadly passed away on Monday evening.

Graham, along with his wife Dawn, became members of Brentwood Rugby Club 22 years ago, when they enrolled their sons Ryan & Rory in to the Mini Section, both of whom went on to represent the 1st team.

At the sprightly age of 45, he was persuaded to take up playing, and made his debut against Rochford in 1997, proving to those of a lesser age, that you are never too old.

Graham proved to be a popular stalwart of the club,

He demonstrated to those many years his junior, what dedication to training meant, and when not playing, he was a willing to contribute to the Clubs finances by socialising at the bar, especially when Dawn was persuaded by some old bugger to support him by becoming Club Secretary.

At the latter stage of his career, he transferred to Old Brentwood's to finish off his playing days, where he was equally respected.

He will be sadly missed, and I am sure we would all offer our condolences to Dawn and the boys.

The Funeral is at 2.00pm on Thursday 2nd February at The Bentley. Dawn has requested that there be no black ties and that Rugby shirts should be worn.

This is to be followed by the Celebration (Party !) of Graham's Life at Ashwells Country Club.

With Kind Regards

Kevin Ambrose
