Senior fixtures for Saturday 1 October

Senior fixtures for Saturday 1 October

James Metcalfe30 Sep 2011 - 09:12

With the first month of the season complete, we now move in October (already!?) with all four senior teams in action this weekend.

The only home game this Saturday sees Justin’s development squad undertake their first BL Essex Merit Table, Division 7 league game against Upper Clapton. The team are looking for their first win of the season following a narrow loss in their first game and an excellent performance in losing against a supposed Maldon II/III team (which seemed to have a lot of Maldon 1st team players!).

If you are not travelling away to watch any of the other teams, the team would be extremely grateful for your support - kick off is 3pm. Bar will open to allow you to hopefully celebrate both a development team win and England’s win over Scotland!

Following their opening game win last week against Old Brentwoods, the Veterans travel to Ravens looking for another good win - kick off is 3pm.

Second team have a tough fixture in their third BL Essex Merit Table, Division 1 league game against local rivals Chelmsford. Having lost the first 2 league games the team are desperate to get their league campaign back on track, and hope the benefits of several weeks of excellent training pay off this Saturday. Unfortunately, they will be without their talismanic leader, as Mr Sprout has again been called up to the 1st XV squad in the hope of passing on his considerable experience to the youthful 1st XV front row. Kick off again is 3pm.

The first team continue their league programme following 3 excellent wins from the first 4 games, with a tricky tie away to Old Colfeians. Having lost both games to Old Colfs last season, the team are keen to put in a good performance to maintain their great start to the season. Directions to Old Colfs can be found in the documents section of the website (see link below) if you are able to travel “down” south to support the team. As with all the other games, kick off is 3pm.
