New Clubhouse Update: November 2017

We have started

The construction phase of our new clubhouse project has commenced with our initial build notice having been accepted by Brentwood Borough Council. The detailed construction plans and packages of work are being drawn up as I write this update.

We thank all those club members and friends of BRFC who have already contributed, or committed to contribute their money, so that our club can have facilities that match up to the standards our teams are already achieving on the field of play across the whole club. We have over £66,000 in the clubhouse fund and more is promised in pledges and standing order payments.

As the region’s largest community sports club with over 750 members and many more parents and friends who visit King Georges regularly to support BRFC, I would like to think we have only just scratched the surface on fund raising for the new clubhouse. We need many more people to start helping us to fund and deliver the new clubhouse project which will benefit the whole club for years to come.

How the construction proceeds from here will depend on how quickly we can raise the further £120,000 we need, which with promised grant and loan aid from the RFU, will put us in a position to complete the full project in the 2018 closed season. Whatever, we have entered the construction phase and will start by building the new changing rooms and mezzanine area while fund raising for the remaining sum continues.

A range of options for making donations for the new clubhouse are set out in the “Payments” section of the club’s website. Alternatively, you can make your donation directly into the clubhouse fund account using sort code 20 19 95 and account number 33968448.
I know that this project has been talked about for a long time and even I doubted, at times, that we would ever start building, but now is the time for all members and friends of BRFC to come forward with donations, however small or large. Let’s all club together to build our new clubhouse.
