Under 16's put up good fight in Cup v Southend

Storm Angus and poor overnight weather didn't deter us from travelling to Southend for our rescheduled Cup Match, with all the team looking forward to the challenge.
Brentwood started well and in the first 10 mins we looked quite evenly matched. Unfortunately, Southend scored first, and this changed the course of the match, with us allowing them to gain the upper hand. We had to battle hard to score our first try and conversion near to the end of half time, which spurred the boys on to have a little bit more belief in themselves. Half time score 31-7.
Second half saw us play with much more aggression, commitment and belief, and we kept pushing and managed to claw the score back to 43-29 at full time. Not the walkover Southend may have been expecting. We may not have gained the physical victory, but we have certainly left Southend with something to think about for future meetings.
