With pitches at King George's unplayable due to waterlogging, our fixture was switched to an away one at the last minute. Pitches at Braintree were good and firm. From Kick off, we knew if we played our normal game, we could probably dominate the match. Unfortunately, we had!t reckoned on the game being stopped every few minutes by a blow of the whistle. Nevertheless, we managed to break through and score fairly early on in the first half, which bizarrely lasted 40 minutes. With string cross winds sweeping the pitch, and with the Kick not being an easy one anyway, we weren't able to convert. In the second, the frustration of our players was becoming evident, with a number of penalties awarded in Braintree!s favour. Despite this we battled on and managed to score again in the 25 minute second half! Overall, we had the edge, and U'm sure were it not for the constant stoppages, the 12-6 final Score would gave been much greater!
