U11s win at Hertford Floodlit festival
Saturday evening saw Brentwood RFC Under 11s travel to Hertford RFC for a floodlit festival.
In their first game against Old Albanians they battled hard and almost scored through Edward Henson who was tackled just short of the line. Despite both teams offering much the match ended 0-0.
Second up were Woodford who played very well however Brentwood's passing game improved and led to tries for Tom Guy, Jake Bain and Mathew White with Brentwood winning 3-1.
The hosts Hertford were next and the weather finally turned. In torrential rain Lewis Rick Humphries and Brooking Boatwright both powered over in a 2-0 victory.
The final game against Bishops Stortford became a defensive battle with Brentwood having to tackle hard in worsening conditions. This they did manfully, however their line was finally breached leading to a 1-0 loss.
Every Brentwood player deserves credit for representing Brentwood Rugby Club with skill, courage and passion.
Brentwood were announced overall winners of the Under11s trophy to a roar of approval from players and parents alike.
Many thanks to Hertford Rugby Club for hosting such a fun and well organised tournament.
