Brentwood arrived in Letchworth on the back of a comprehensive victory over Old haberdashers the previous weekend and confident of putting pressure on the teams above them in the league with a win against their familiar Hertfordshire rivals.

After some scrappy opening play, Brentwood put together some nice phases and good hands through the backs put Charles Wilkinson over in the corner, Charlie Chambers converted nicely to put Brentwood ahead 0 -7. A further scrappy period of play followed, Letchworth created an overlap but their centre spilled the ball and the chance was missed. Chambers added a penalty to edge Brentwood further ahead to 0 -10.

With Brentwood constantly stopping Letchworth attacks behind the gain line, dominant in the scrum and regularly stealing line out ball through second row James Killington, Letchworth found it difficult to get a foothold on the game. A big hit from Ben Amato set up an attack in the opposition half and Bradley Burr made a break to feed Adam Thomas for a converted try under the posts.

A virtual carbon copy soon after, a double tackle by Louis Payne and Josh Woodcock pushed Letchworth back a full 5 metres, a steal from Ben Amato in the ruck set the backs on a move which ended with Charlie Wilkinson going over for his second try in the corner.

More of the same in the second half, a massive carry from Tijde Visser in midfield set up a good position just outside the Letchworth 22, Charlie Chambers spotted a gap and accelerated through under the posts.. Brentwood then made some changes and brought Paul Bradley and Tom Simpson on to replace Matt Whaley and Adam Thomas and were completely dominant by this stage, a knock on gave Letchworth some precious space and scored an unconverted try in the corner bringing the score to 5 - 36. With the vast majority of play in and around the Letchworth half another score looked inevitable, a couple of chances went begging before another great break from Chambers put Chay Pollinger in for a try, score now 5 - 43.

Straight form the kick off Chambers again scored a fine individual try, duly converted to bring up the half century of points. Now playing with freedom, Brentwood then scored the try of the match, lovely interplay between Paul Bradley, Louis Payne & James White put Chay Polinger away for his second try, no conversion this time but Brentwood in full control of the game. Charlie Wilkinson then capped a fine performance using his pace to complete his hat trick in the corner. A nice backs move was finished off by Bradley Burr in the same corner from a superb delayed pass from Tom Simpson. Chambers added the conversion. Score now 5 - 62.
The last play of the game saw Pollinger score his second hat trick in 2 weeks after a lovely cut out pass from scrum half James White.

The DAVLAV man of the match award went to Charlie Chambers scoring 27 points in a fine all round performance. Brentwood are established in fourth place in the league with 22 points from six matches. No fixture next week meaning the next game will be on the 21st October where Brentwood host Old Priorians at 3pm.
