Hi All,

One of our club members, Iain Thompson, has taken up
the Strictly St. Luke’s dance challenge to raise funds for
St. Luke’s Hospice.

Iain has been paired with his dance teacher and
professional dancer, Nikita from Elite Dance to learn the
tango and samba.

They will be performing in the finale at the Brentwood
Centre on the evening of Saturday 22 nd March 2025,
alongside the other couples taking part.

As someone who has played for, coached, refereed and
served on the Executive at Brentwood RFC, it would be
great if we can support him in his fundraising efforts and
on the night.

It’s a great night of entertainment, cheering on everyone who has stepped up to dance and
every vote counts on the night!

Iain commented:
“Why would anyone with no dance experience and two left feet take up a dancing
challenge?”

Life is full of opportunities, and you can either let them pass you by or grasp them, make the
most of them and create amazing memories.I have always felt it’s important to give back to
the community and get involved with events to raise funds for fantastic charities. (They’re all
fantastic!)

A friend, whose wife took part and volunteers at the hospice, made me aware of this event
around the same time as a team mate of mine, Jamie Ingram, from my Brentwood Colts
team (1989-1991) passed away last April. He and his family had been cared for by the team
at St Luke’s.

So, what better way to raise money for a fantastic cause, honour his memory, challenge
myself and learn a new skill.”
