Tom Minnis
18th September 1941 - 30th May 2026
It is with great sadness to advise that Tom Minnis died on Sunday 30th May.
Tom was born in COATBRIDGE,Scotland and lived there until through his work he was transferred to the London area.
He duly became the the Tax manager of a leading City accountancy firm and during this time married to Addie and moved to the Shenfield area.
Almost by accident he joined the Club and became a fixture in the second row of the B team {5ths}. During that era [1970’s], there was a greater emphasis I on the social side to the game and Tom certainly embraced this aspect with some relish.
With a growing family, Alex [son] and Victoria he turned his attention to coaching. Thus seeing Alex through the age groups.
During his years of retirement he spent plenty of time on golf courses in the UK and France and later played bowls at two local bowling clubs.
Some seven years ago he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. During the ensuing years, despite deteriorating health, he continued to supporting the club for many of the home fixtures.
The funeral arrangements are;
1.30pm Thursday 25th June Bentley Crematorium.
Wake to be held at Masons, Ingrave Road.
